Poem about Death

Poem About Death

Read at Mother's funeral 2010

Petals in a river stream
Follow along in a watery dream
Each one from a bright flower
That after time lost it's earthly power
So, they fall into the bubbly course
Along the way they pulse through
Making a bridge for life anew
The leaves from trees are the same
They fall into the liquid frame
Where they end it's hard to tell
The mystery the same as they fell
Matter and energy never die
It changes from earth to sky
Same as the flower and tree
They simply become infinitely free
The plan of life in a constant balance
To keep the realm in perfect order
It begins, grows, and ends
From frail to immortal we all flow
To our Genesis source, our energy the same
But we become something entirely new.
