Fall's Faces

Fall’s Faces
Melinda S. Everett

Red, Yellow, Orange
Brilliance flashing in Autumn’s Grace
Wed with graying blues
And frosty nights
Fall finds her place.

Hot creamy chocolate
Warms me inside
From dry scratchy cold
Brought on wintry winds
And season’s change
A tale retold.

Flower’s life withers
As time burns wild
And summer dies
Whirling clouds dance
Storm’s playful skies.

Seashores explode white
Spilling on sand
Free to break
Rushing, Running
Rolling
Satisfaction.

Frozen Kingdom

Frozen Kingdom

When did I turn off my heart?
When did I build encasing walls?
I’m a shut-in; a life that’s gone quiet; trapped in a frozen castle.
I sent out a knight to capture and kill all my emotions.
A queen on a lonely dais,
Not even daring to rule my heart.
(It’s a thing gone dead.)
Frozen in pain,
It beats are icily resounding  throughout a white kingdom.
The sun never rises here
No warmth can touch me-
I’m a tundra at the end of the world.
A land ruled by snow and ice!

Petals in a river stream
Follow along in a watery dream
Each one from a bright flower
That after time lost it's earthly power
So, they fall into the bubbly course
Along the way they pulse through
Making a bridge for life anew
The leaves from trees are the same
They fall into the liquid frame
Where they end it's hard to tell
The mystery the same as they fell
Matter and energy never die
It changes from earth to sky
Same as the flower and tree
They simply become infinitely free
The plan of life in a constant balance
To keep the realm in perfect order
It begins, grows, and ends
From frail to immortal we all flow
To our Genesis source, our energy the same
But we become something entirely new.

Can't Find You

Can’t find you
ByMelinda Everett
June 2011

I am a tangled mess of emotions….
…My eyes crystal orbs….
Salt water typhoon, seas crashing water on the floor.
Hardwood anger beating my heart
…Clenching inside a darkest me…
Questions never satisfied popping around my head.

Is it a dream?
Is it a fantasy?
How far can you go so I’ll forget?

Whirling dust of sadness reaches through time
...Falling all around my frame…..

No shovel can bury what has been written by a sure hand
…Erasers hidden so the words etched flow on…Running anger can’t stop anything!
The control is over my head.
